Curt, an unknown to the political arena, brings to the race the main stream American citizen. Cleaver an entrepreneur has pioneered and developed a hotel sales consulting and management company in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Curt Cleaver will use Godly wisdom, integrity, and his entrepreneurial and pioneering spirit to effect change in Washington.
First and foremost, Curt has a deep and passionate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. "This nation needs to be restored to - One Nation under God," Curt said. The Time has come for both Americans and Texans to get back to the strict adherence to the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. and Texas constitutions.
He was born in Gary, Indiana in 1966. He and his wife, Nancy, have been married for 21 years. They have two sons, Chris and Brandon.
Curt started his career in the hotel industry as a van driver for a recognized hotel chain and worked his way up to National Sales Manager. He then turned his energies to launching his own business. As an entrepreneur, he has built a successful hotel sales, consulting, and management company. He has been very active in the business community, serving leadership roles in several hotel industry associations. Curt understands common business practices, and common sense.
Curt Cleaver is a Godly man. He has a deep and passionate relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Through his experiences with God in his life, Curt firmly believes that the answers to our nation's problems will be found when we seek God first. Curt and his family are active members of Gateway Church in Southlake. He also has many connections to other churches throughout the state. He believes that Godly men, working together, through the power of Jesus Christ, can bring hope and restoration to our nation.
America was founded by aliens, settled by aliens, inhabited by aliens, and became known as a place that welcomed aliens who were oppressed or wanted to be free. We need to create better means for those who want to live and work here to become legal citizens and penalize those who do not, and the businesses that support them.
I plan to put forward a better plan to allow illegal immigrants with children born here to become citizens. A national language would save millions by forcing those who come into the US to learn English and not providing teachers and documentation in their native tongue.
Providing medical care to illegal immigrants in a time of crisis is humane, but allowing them to abuse the system must be eliminated.
However, none of these issues can be firmly addressed until our borders are secure. Therefore securing the borders is first and foremost.
I believe that domestically, securing the borders is the first vital step we must take toward a common-sense approach toward immigration, both legal and illegal.

I am very supportive of our military both at home and abroad. They sacrifice their lives to keep this land great and I believe it is our job to fully support them both during and after their service.
The only real way to know how to manage the military is by utilizing the wisdom of those who have served. Allow the Joint Chiefs of Staff to direct the troops here in the states in securing the border and abroad to bring freedom from tyranny. Our southern borders need to be secured from the drug cartels and the wars going on in Mexico. Our northern border must be secured from the radicals coming in from the Middle East, our waterways must be monitored to prevent drug trafficking.
However, with our Coast Guard and National Guard being sent overseas,
I believe in the Sanctity of Marriage and that marriage is defined as one man and one woman. This definition cannot be given by man, or government, but by God. Genesis 2:24 makes this clear in saying "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife and they shall be one flesh."
We cannot have fiscal responsibility without reforming our tax system. We need taxes to cover the cost of our military and other government oversight, however taxing middle-income people to the point where nearly 30% of their income is removed from their paycheck is unconscionable.
I propose a 10% tax, across the board with no deductions. This eliminates the gift, inheritance and estate taxes as well as reduces the role of the IRS. It lessens the amount of paperwork, includes everyone, and prevents the red-tape system we currently have.
Returning the oversight of Education to the state and local level not only eliminates money from the federal budget, it also gives the power back to the local governing authorities and enables the teachers themselves to have more control in the classroom.
Teachers today are severely limited due to constraints to achieve to a certain standard as well as prevented from allowing creativity in the classroom. Children are held to strict standards and not allowed to learn in a way that expands their creativity and their imagination. The basics are no longer taught, but they are limited to systems and structures driven by strict governmental standards.
We must stand firm in our allegiance and our relationship with Israel. Our friend, Israel, sits in the middle of a region of instability … a region where we currently get 65% of our oil. Israel is our best ally and arguably our only true ally in a region where long-established governments can topple overnight. We must protect that relationship with Israel.
Why should a Texas Senator have such a strong stance on protecting our alliance with this tiny country? As a part of this great state and this wonderful country, we must understand the importance of aligning with a country that holds so much power in the middle east.
Most importantly though, as a Christian nation, it is our responsibility to stand with Israel in accordance with God's directive given in Psalm 122:6, we are to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. God makes it very clear we need to support and defend Israel at all costs.
As a small business owner, husband, and father, I have always had to understand a balanced budget. James Madison, in a letter to Thomas Jefferson in 1789 said "But with respect to future debt; would it not be wise and just for that nation to declare in the constitution they are forming that neither the legislature, nor the nation itself can validly contract more debt, than they may pay within their own age, or within the term of 19 years."
How far we have gotten away from the idea of little to no debt? Our national debt, as of this writing is over $15 trillion dollars with each citizen's part being estimated at over $48,000. We have created so much debt, that our children will not even pay it off.
I proposed that the budget be balanced every

I proposed that the budget be balanced every two years, every department will be held responsible for their part, and the amount of money sent to fund other countries without repayment will be scrutinized. Obviously this would be a huge task, but with the amount of wisdom God has given us, it can be done if we work together.
One of the biggest issues with healthcare is the big government making big insurance, bigger. Healthcare costs have been driven up by the involvement of government through testing and oversight, including reactive care instead of preventative care. Allowing competitive, truly competitive coverage, at reasonable costs for both the individual and the business would enable more people to have access to both good healthcare and insurance coverage.
You would be hard pressed to find any conservative who agrees with Obamacare, and I truly believe we need to repeal ALL of it. Being Pro-Life is not only part of the Republican Party Platform, I stand for life. I do believe abortion is taking the life of the innocent; however I understand that many have bought into the lie that it is their only option. My platform stands for the lives of the innocent, i.e. the unborn, the elderly, the impaired, and I also believe that only God can give or take a life. My belief is that the abortion industry has used fear, ignorance, and selfish motives to perpetuate greed through both providing the abortion services and selling the tissue for research.
My prayer is that those who are involved, as well as those who have fallen prey to this strategy will understand the truth of Life and come into complete repentance and forgiveness.
We must not spend more than we have. We must severely scrutinize every department and defund those that are either unnecessary or return the power to the states to oversee. Many departments, including the Department of Education needs to be on the state level, not national. Returning oversight of those agencies to the state will not only reduce the debt and cut spending, it will allow the state more control at the level to provide support and direction necessary for their success.
No person, family, or country can survive spending more than they make.
Healthcare costs have been driven up by the involvement of government through testing and oversight, including reactive care instead of preventative care.
My platform includes a return to our American Heritage, the principles we were founded on and family values. While many have proclaimed family values, they have been exposed to live quite differently in their own lives. I not only believe and espouse those values; I stand and live in those values.
Alexis-Charles-Henri Clérel de Tocqueville was a French political thinker and historian who lived in the early to mid 1800s. He is best known for his work "Democracy in America" which is considered one of the earliest and most impactful works on sociology and political science. De Tocqueville was very enamored by the heart of the American people and their struggles and studied them from a political, personal, and spiritual standpoint for many years.
The quote "America is great because she is good (referring to America's dedication to God), and if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great. Our nation was founded by men and women who believed in godly principles and traditional values, even when the world was steeped in hedonism and evil.
This country was founded by people who wanted the government out of the church. However, through proof from both art and writing, we know these men carried their spiritual beliefs into their political forums. There are paintings of our founding fathers having a prayer meeting just prior to signing the Constitution. To believe they did not want God involved is a fallacy.
It is our responsibility to allow all religions the right to worship freely without fear of reprisal. We also need to remove the threats of government involvement when we act on that freedom. America was given freedom OF religion in our foundational documents, not freedom FROM religion.
In the early days of our country, our military suffered greatly in war, often succumbing to illness, starvation, or lack of medical care as much as battle. Our benefits were designed to take care of our veterans simply because they have paid a very high price to keep us free. Ensuring their benefits are secure and reducing the amount of government intervention in their care, while providing them the best benefits available is what I will work to do.
While this may not seem to fit under this overall category, it really speaks to taking care of us as we get older. Many have paid into this system for years and now face the real possibility of no benefits due to mismanagement and big government.
Social Security was designed to give us security after our country realized our elderly were starving and going without medical care. We must reform this system in order to ensure families can take care of their parents and grandparents without worry or fear.
